A few words
Ioannis Matiakis is a Civil Engineer, graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with extensive experience in structural design, construction, and technical consulting in both the public and private sectors. Since 2008, he has operated his own engineering office, specializing in consulting services, structural integrity assessments, construction supervision, and energy-efficient building solutions.
His professional journey includes participation in major infrastructure and building projects across Greece. He has served as a Safety and Health Coordinator and Technical Consultant on high-profile developments such as the MIRAGGIO Spa & Wellness Hotel, the ALDI Logistics Center, Thessaloniki Airport runway extension, retail and hotel renovations (Marriott, Grand Palace, McDonald’s, Lidl), and various roadworks, schools, and wastewater treatment facilities.
In the field of sustainable engineering, he provides expert services in photovoltaic system design and installation, energy-saving applications (e.g., thermal facades), and passive building certification. He is also highly experienced in issuing building and operating permits, and in managing the legalization of unauthorized constructions under Greek law.
His work philosophy is built on precision, responsibility, and long-term value. Every project he undertakes combines technical excellence, safety, and aesthetics—offering clients practical solutions and a sustainable future.
